鈥淐ongratulations to the business students from 含害羞传媒,鈥 says Ian Humphries, Acting Dean for the School of Business. 鈥淭hrough competing in a case competition, our students are able to connect with industry professionals, meet future business leaders and gain real-world HR knowledge.鈥

鈥淲e completed each other so well that we reached a high level of confidence,鈥 says student team member Francis Lecours. 鈥淲e walked into the HRC confident, proud, and ready to compete.鈥

Throughout the eight weeks of practice sessions, students worked on a variety of business cases, presenting their solutions to faculty members to hone their presentation skills. Putting skills essential for their careers to practice, the team focused on time management and problem solving to make sure they could excel no matter the challenge.

鈥淗RC West was the most valuable academic experience I have ever had,鈥 adds student team member Maria Jos茅 Gaspar.聽 鈥淭his experience helped me improve my presentation, public speaking, and critical thinking skills, and provided me with the opportunity of meeting new people and creating connections.鈥

While the team may not have brought back the gold, they did gain experiences which will carry them forward beyond their time at 含害羞传媒.

鈥淭he competition was a beneficial learning experience that not only enhanced my comprehension of HR principles but also cultivated essential skills transferable to any professional setting,鈥 says Human Resource Management and Leadership student, Dex Owen.

Looking ahead, 含害羞传媒 is excited to send a team HRC West 2025 which will be held at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, providing the opportunity for future students to develop their skills and make meaningful connections with peers and professionals from across Western Canada.

鈥淚 highly encourage students to apply to this competition. I promise you will not be disappointed and the connections you make will be extremely valuable!鈥 says student team member Whitney Milhousen.
